It’s everywhere, people in perfect shape peddling the perfect product to get you into the best shape of your life. The testimonials are great as well. The slow music, the mood lighting, the tears; whatever it takes to convince you that the new slinky they are selling will get you to look just like the super model presented in the commercials. They use words like REAL PEOPLE, SIX PACK ABS, and GET RIPPED QUICKLY, to get you pumped up.  You have seen these commercials! They even use really cool exercise moves to challenge you to purchase these products promising you that the weight will fall off in no time or money back guaranteed.  

 
 HOWEVER!!! That is not the whole story! To a trained eye one of the biggest things that I usually notice right off the cuff is that most of these promises literally violate many laws of science! When you see some huge guy on TV telling you he got it all done in 3 months, it’s most likely nonsense. Particularly if the person in the video looks likes he can bench press 500 pounds! It’s simply not possible to achieve that level of fitness in three months unless you just happen to be a genetic natural phenomenon.  
 
In response to these gimmicks and misleading advertisings I created the Armageddon Fitness Dictionary to translate fitness and weight loss claims and what they most likely mean.
  
 

               IF THEY SHOW YOU THIS

THIS IS WHAT IS MOST LIKELY MEANS

1.       Guys that look like they can bench press 500 pounds!
It means he has been working out for years not 3 months!
2.       If the guy has an unusual amount of veins popping.
He is most likely taking a drug or supplement that might not be safe.
3.       Look  and listen closely to the testimonials – If the person says he/she has been working out for years but has not gotten the results they were looking for until they tried product X or Y.
Pay attention to the fact that “they have been working out for years”,   therefore, you will not get anywhere close to the results that they got unless you have been working out for years too!
4.       If they are trying to sell you a supplement, run!
Run Run Run! Your solution is not in a jar or vial.
5.       When they say “medical” weight loss
Drugs! Drugs! Drugs! Not sustainable – ALL drugs have side effects. Did you know that 53% of all doctors are overweight? I like doctors quite a lot and work with them quite a lot. However you may want to discuss no drug options with your doctor. If your doctor does not know how to get you there without drugs buy a copy of Armageddon Weight Loss Fitness Program or call me, I can help.
6.       If they keep showing you lots of pictures of the personal trainer bodies and not real clients.
This means that most clients get mediocre results and they lack sufficient evidence that their product work.
7.       If they use lots of young hot people in their commercial.
They are trying to distract you with youth! Most of us looked better when we were younger. Skip all that nonsense! You want a realistic view of what YOU most likely will look like after using their product.
8.       Always notice what shape the person was in before they began. Pay close attention to their starting weight also.
The top two leading workout videos show people who are already in reasonably good shape. Most users just needed a 5 – 10 % change. If that is not you and you need 40-100% change, the product being advertised will not work for you! If it will work at all.
9.       Just because the product is popular does not mean it works!
One of the most popular fads right now starts with the letter “Z” with lot of people dancing their way to temporary weight loss results. The problem is that this approach will not deliver the sustainable results that most people are looking for and the vast majority of the successes were not delivered by the actual product alone. Plus, most users do not fully understand the science behind how they scientifically got their results which means they most likely will not keep their results.
10.    ALL DIET PROGRAMS ALONE WILL FAIL!
Perhaps some of you are currently using a diet program. The problem is that diets have not been proven to provide toned muscles or build muscles! Sure you can go do some exercise separately but you really need the exercise instructions to correspond to your workout or you will fail at some point because you are only doing a percentage of what is required to get to your goal and to keep your results. Diet alone programs also is strongly responsible for yoyo progress.
11.    Workout program that only have one speed. For example if it is advertised as being intense or if it says for beginners.
The problem with this option is that you need progressive workout not one speed.  All workout DVD programs  (except for Armageddon Weight Loss Fitness Program) have only one speed. You need step by step progressive instructions and your nutrition needs to be synchronized with the increase in intensity and progression of your workouts.
12. Gym with “pretty” equipment
It does not matter how much equipment is in the gym or how many new pieces of equipment are available if you don’t know how to use them. Plus, some sometimes the older equipment is better designed.

Fuel Sources, why it seriously matters to your weight loss fitness success!

If you are in the transportation business and you were driving from Boston to California one thing that would be very important is to make sure you had a reasonably good fuel budget to get there. However, what if your boss only provided you with enough fuel to get to New York? It’s unlikely you would actually get to California unless you came up with a solution of your own. Therefore, if you were serious about getting to California you might be forced to add some of your own money to get to your destination. Now, in addition to your travel misery, your boss flew to California and during their big conference she invited you on stage in front of the entire company and took credit for providing you with the entire funding to get you to your destination successfully! Do you believe this should be considered a fair account of how you got to California? Well neither do I!

As you know, year after year, more and more diet programs and fitness workout videos are peddled; many featuring people in amazing shape many speaking in their own words about how a particular product completely worked for them. These products usually feature amazing results of people who are toned or totally ripped… yet it is scientifically impossible to get toned or to build muscles simply from diet alone or exercise alone!

Diet alone will not get you ripped or toned because diets alone do not build muscles! Neither will drugs, supplements, workouts or cardio programs, dance regimens or Pilates routines to name but a few!  The fact is; the types of fuels that you use matters immensely! Your body requires different types of fuel sources bases on the activity that is being performed. Therefore, simply picking a diet and counting points or taking drugs or supplements is extremely inefficient and does not necessarily match with the  activity that you will be performing unless you know what those activities will be ahead of time!

Whenever, you decide to lose weight or exercise you MUST know what you will be doing and your fuel source must match up to the type of activity to provide optimum performance and RESULTS. If not, you could run out of fuel during your workouts or even harm yourself!

CARLOS HAS NOW LOST 238.6 POUNDS!

Believe it or not, Carlos is still losing weight! Each time we add new information about Carlos we have to update his weight loss results. Since our movie trailer on our homepage, Carlos has lost an additional 17.4 pounds. (225 to 207.6!). So if you notice as you read throughout our website that Carlos weight loss keeps changing, that is because I am still working on getting him down to 199 pounds. That would be 247 pounds weight loss when we get there. He only has 8.6 more pounds to go to reach that goal. He is currently 207.4 pounds as of  today, that is 238.6 pound lost! So perhaps the next time that I add a post we will have him below 199 pounds. Stay tuned!

Why are so many personal trainers out of shape?

Have you noticed lately that many personal trainers are actually out of shape? Shocking but true. Within the last few years of my travels to numerous gyms across the country, I cannot help but notice this new trend that seem to be catching on. Trainer who are out of shape, overweight, sporting a beautiful “pot belly”,  yet they are still charging $75-$100 per hours.  The funny thing is lots of people are still paying for their service! Now that is shocking too. Not only are these trainers out of shape, I suspect that many were never actually in shape. Added to this new phenomenon, many of these trainer are teaching terrible biomechanics and nutrition to their clients with the added expectation to do as I say, not as I do. By “do” I mean, drinking a case of beer and eating bon bons on the weekend. If you do not have the discipline to take care of your own health, and/or you lack the knowledge to get yourself in shape, how can you morally justify charging people for something that you have either never achieved or do not practice? Shame! Shame! Shame on you for disrespecting our industry. Shame on the school that are focusing on just the intellectual pursuit of fitness and not the practical application of fitness. Unlike professions such as Psychology, Accounting, Engineering, when it comes to fitness it’s not just about the knowledge, it also about living the lifestyle of a trainer. Taking care of your billboard. Your billboard that shows that you know what you are doing.  Your billboard that  communicate to your clients that when you say you are going to get them a flat stomach you are actually sporting your own flat stomach!

At first, I thought it was just trainers being lazy alone. However, the more I investigate the more I remained puzzled. Why was this happening? What was I missing. Overweight, out of shape trainers, lacking the necessary knowledge to actually provide you with the tools necessary to get in shape. Wow there are so many of you! Then it hit me. The problem runs deeper than just the trainers, it about the schools that are acting like diploma mills. Hiring overweight, out of shape, unqualified instructors, eating a donut while teaching classes, passing on this philosophy to the next generation of students. Oh da shame!

So the next time you think of hiring a trainer, think Armageddon instead. Ditch your trainer,  use Armageddon to become educated and save yourself the thousands of dollars you would pay your overweight, out of shape trainer.  With Armageddon you will learn from fitness instructors who are not just in great shape, your instructors will also be highly qualified and very experienced.

ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS – WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW.

Full Disclosure – I am not the biggest fan of supplements. I only recommend a couple of very basic supplement as needed  that can be found at just about any supermarket or local grocery store. Honestly, you really don’t need a bunch of supplements to get to your goal. That is just a great way to make a bunch of profit for many companies, but it helps you very little. Part of what we teach you is how to spot fads and gimmicks. Once you learn how to identify these fads and gimmicks based on hard science, you are going to be so angry at the many deceptive advertisers that are out there.  Don’t believe the hype! By the time I meet most clients they have already used many fads and gimmick and are thoroughtly frustrated, jaded, and highly skeptical. I like that in a new clients! You should be! There are too many unqualified, inexperienced trainers, fad and gimmicks on the market that does not deliver on their promise. Here is my “word” to you…  if you use Armageddon and you follow our instructions you WILL lose weight, get stronger, with more endurance!
