Meet Amy Meredith, Lead Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner and Armageddon Weight Loss Program success story. Amy has tried them all; from how to lose cellulite fast programs, how to lose weight fast products, lots of best exercise DVD programs, and targeted weight loss programs for women. At 55 years old and a highly qualified medical expert, Amy wanted more than just a bunch of weight loss tips for women that meant nothing much by themselves. She particularly wanted effective weight loss for women over 40 or a weight loss for women over 50 program that was personalized to address her specific needs.
Here is what Amy had to say
Life is hard and one of the biggest lies we have been sold is that there are a few short easy steps to life we long for. Whether the perfect job, the perfect relationship, or the perfect body, follow these steps and you will reach Nirvana. I know this to be true because I have tried them all. In reality the things that we value the most, our families, our vocation, our health, all require discipline. Daily, regular sometimes drudging, discipline. It requires a life time of daily choices. Sometimes minute to minute choices. One of my favorite lines comes from a movie I have long forgotten except for this line, “You knew what to do, you just chose not to do it.” There isn’t an end point. Life occurs on a continuum. You cannot attain it in 12 weeks then stop, hoping that you are done working. Some times are easier than others, but the discipline and choices are always before us. Everyday.
When I began Armageddon, I had tried every popular weight engagement and health system out there. I stumbled upon the program while reading yet another article about managing weight and our health. I have always been quite disciplined about these things, but 2013 for a variety of reasons, ended with me feeling lost, and 20 pounds heavier. January 2014, I decided that I must add discipline back in to my life. When I first read the Armageddon program, I knew right away that this way no 12 step program, and there was no end point. I liked that.
As a busy lead Emergency Nurse Practitioner, working varying hours, managing our diverse group, interfacing with both ED physicians and hospital physicians and administrators, and my family I often wondered how I could fit in the hours necessary to do everything well…but what I came to realize is that “necessary” became my operative word. I woke up early sometimes, worked out late others depending on my schedule at work. Necessary discipline. Sometimes the Ugh! factor was huge.
Those early weeks required a lot of mental strength. Determination pays off, though. Eventually, the routine develops, your body and mind love the hard work and you love the results. Am I done? Not even hardly. It’s every day the choice to work hard at all that matters most to me. Remarkably, I am finding that being healthy and making the hard choices to workout and eat healthy makes every other part of my life far easier and more joy filled. And that, is the best part!
